Both, Hubby and I, love to eat Japanese yakitori..... Hubby likes the asparagus rolled with bacon and I like the chicken yakitori.... Whenever Hubby likes something, I always feel challenged to cook the dish..... Hahaha..... My mom also displays the same trait.....
So off I went to supermarket to purchase the ingredients needed..... Bacon, asparagus, boneless chicken thigh and yakitori sauce. I also bought green capsicum and leek..... I think leek and capsicum would make the yakitori tastes better.....
First, I cut the chicken into bite size cubes and marinate them with yakitori sauce. Remember to use yakitori sauce.... Because it creates charcoal-grilled aroma to your yakitori. I left the chicken to absorb the flavour for about 2 hours. While waiting for the chicken, I prepared the asparagus and bacon. I alternated bacon with leek..... The leek would give a nice aroma......
step 1: roll the asparagus with bacon step 2: use the Japanese yakitori skewer
Ahhhh...... I love yakitori!
Back to chicken yakitori.... After marinating, I placed it on the skewer. This time, I added capsicum and leek...... Just look at those yakitori sticks...... Are you hungry??
Ta Daaaa...... This is how I served the yakitori sticks...... The one on the left is of course mine and the other belongs to Hubby....... Hubby's tummy bulged out after he finished his meal..... Phuahahaha........
*satisfied*
